How it works
- Pick a duration. Five seconds is the classic; ten seconds also tests your stamina.
- Click the box to start, then keep clicking as fast as you can.
- When time is up you see your CPS and your best score. Wait a moment, then click again for another try.
What is a good CPS?
Most people click 6 to 8 times per second with a normal click. Gamers who practice reach 10 to 12, and techniques such as jitter clicking or butterfly clicking can go beyond that. Scores in very short tests are always higher, because you don’t get tired in a single second.
Click techniques
Jitter clicking tenses the arm so that the finger vibrates on the button. Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on the same button. Drag clicking slides a finger across the button so that friction makes it bounce. Try them slowly at first: they tire the hand quickly.
Clicking speed in games
In games with close combat, faster clicking means more hits in the same time, and a click test is a quick warm-up. Check the rules of the server you play on: some limit clicks per second or ban macros and autoclickers.
Questions and answers
How is CPS calculated?
Your clicks divided by the length of the test in seconds: 50 clicks in 5 seconds is 10 CPS.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, every tap counts as a click. On a touch screen you can use two fingers, so phone and mouse scores are not really comparable.
Can my mouse change the result?
Yes. Mice with light switches are easier to click quickly, and some gaming mice handle fast clicks differently. Use the same mouse when you compare scores.
Are my scores saved?
Your best score for each duration stays in your browser, and Reset deletes it.
